Ten Commandments of Re-Opening Redeemer

In Person Worship Resumes: Sunday June 6th

Worship Times: 8:00 am and 10:30 am

It is a real blessing from God to be able, once again, to return to Redeemer to worship the Lord again!  As we come together, we want to be sure that everyone can be confident and comfortable that they can worship safely.  These ‘ten commandments for re-opening’ summarize the recommendations from our Elders/Church Leadership.  We hope that you will follow these commandments, not only for your own health/safety, but out of Christian love and concern for your fellow worshipers.

  1. Thou shall remember the Sabbath and worship the Lord each week.  (That worship can take place in person at Redeemer, OR online in your homes.)

  2. Thou shalt NOT worship in person if you have a health condition that might place yourself OR others in danger of contracting the virus.  (Also, if you are sick, or have been in close contact with someone who is sick, we encourage you to worship online, and then join us in person next week.)

  3. Thou shalt only go into the Sanctuary (The Fellowship and Church office will be closed for now to reduce the spread of germs.)

  4. Thou shalt bring/wear a mask. (If you do not have one, we will have extra disposable masks available at the door).

    1. We are strongly encouraging people to wear masks before/during/after worship, out of Christian love/concern for your neighbor, since we have a smaller sanctuary, and activities such as singing, reciting the creed together, etc pose a much higher risk for transmitting the virus.

  5. Thou shalt sit AT LEAST 6 feet apart from others who are not part of thy immediate family.

  6. 8:00 am worshipers shall sit in pews marked by Green FROG tape, and 10:30 worshipers shall sit in pews marked by Yellow FROG tape. (We plan to sit in alternate pews to help with social distancing and reduce the spread of germs)

  7. Thou shalt NOT complain if Thou cans’t sit in thy usual seat/pew.

  8. Thou shall drink thy coffee before church, or on thy way home. (We will NOT have Bible study or coffee hour right away.  We plan to phase these things in over time)

  9. Thou shall use hand sanitizer to keep thy hands clean (We will have some at the doors and in a variety of places in the building.)

  10. Thou shall follow any special directions given on Sunday morning by Pastor Chris, ushers, elders/church leadership, etc.

Worshiping in a pandemic is new to all of us, and we are doing the best

we can to offer worship services in a way that keeps people safe/healthy.

Thanks SO MUCH for your understanding and your patience!
